I live with Sir Didymus. Every day I fully expect him to ride out of his doggy bed on his trusty steed and proceed to challenge all in our household to a dual. Our Sir Didymus is named froley and he is every bit as brave as his doppelganger Didymus. I'm certain that they came from the same litter or perhaps are long lost cousins. I only wish that Froley had been wearing his eye patch in this photo so that you could really get the full effect.

New Hair Cut
My hair stylist went on tour with her band and so I went to the salon and got a hair cut with someone new. As a result, my hair was cut much shorter and very different than usual. I was pretty ridiculously upset. However, as it is with these kind of things, after crying for two days straight I got used to my new haircut and started to embrace the new me. The cut reminds me of Audrey Hepburn's in Roman Holiday. Not that I am comparing myself to Audrey...that's absurd.

A Frameless Erte
From Ben Hur 1925
I could stare at Erte pictures all day long. His art is so incredible. I particularly enjoy his costume designs. All of his work has this magical element that creates a different world for each piece. Even his costume designs create a world for the characters in the picture. When I was 13 I was given an Erte print for my room and I have been in love ever since. I especially enjoy watching the movies or seeing photos of the costumes based on his designs in action and comparing them to the drawings. Also, the 1925 silent movie version of Ben Hur is eye candy of the most elaborate kind. I highly recommend watching it if you get a chance.

His Master's Voice: Old Time Radio Shows
About 9 years ago my T.V. broke. We didn't have cable and so we weren't in any rush to replace it. We still had our computer to watch movies on and were rather slow about getting a new one. We then came across XM radio and became addicted to the classic radio show channel. My mother had given me a set of classic mystery radio show tapes a few years early and once I was hooked I eagerly devoured each tape. I quickly found that I loved the Sam Spade and Phillip Marlowe episodes as well as the ghost stories and supernatural shows. They starred famous actors, many of them in their earliest performances. Today, Colton and I spend at least 3 hours of our at home time together listening to radio shows. Many I have been given for holiday gifts in sets but the others I download for free online from various places. My favorite site is http://www.radiolovers.com/ . They have tons of shows divided by category and they're all free. It's a good way to figure out which shows are your favorite or just listen to a good variety. Their are plenty of pod casts that feature different classic radio shows each week but I'm not one for delayed gratification. I prefer to pick my own! Try the site and enjoy!

The Search for the Suit
I had long searched for the perfect swim suit until last year. Ror quite some time I simply felt that spandex was evil and not to be trusted. Then, everything changed. I found MyBabyJo.com. and all was well with the world. Well....maybe not that great but I had ended the great search for the perfect swimsuit. I purchased the black one piece in the second pic above but believe you me, I had a HARD time making a decision. I also found AMAZING suits at http://forluna.co.uk/ including some INCREDIBLE Esther Williams suits. It's always amazing to me how much of a difference it makes when something is made to make every woman look good and not just made to make one woman look good. These suits emphasize curves if you have them and make you look curvier if you don't. That, to me, is just plain magic! Now all I need is an incredible hotel pool to lounge beside! (hotel pools just feel more glamourous...because I'm a dork)

Fried Liver Attack Ducky
Because I'm in school every day from 8-4 and Colton works every day from 11p-7a we rarely get to see each other as much as we would like. By the time I make it home he is usually in bed asleep and I generally study a bit and then join him. Because of this Colton leaves little notes for me so that we can still communicate. I in turn leave him return notes taped to the steering wheel when I leave him the car in the morning before car pooling to school with my friend Kat or slip one under his pillow before I leave at 5:30 in the morning for clinicals while he is still asleep on his days off.
When I got home the other day I received one of my favorite notes from the "Colton post" ever! It was a little note that said that he had beaten "Fritz" (the chess computer) while playing with one of his duckies (he collects them) as the queen! He was VERY happy about this and went on to explain that he had won with the "Fried Liver" attack (I don't understand it very well or I would explain) and left the chess board just as it was when he put Fritz in check mate so that I could come home and see it! The board stayed like that for 2 days until I had a day off and we had the time for him to explain the game to me play by play. And this is one of the reasons that I so dearly love my Colton.

Take It Off The E String Play It On The G String
I thought I would post a few pictures of some amazing burlesque performers including stills from the movie The Queen of Burlesque which is based on the G String Murders. I am IN LOVE with this film. Mostly because I get to see Barbara Stanwyck in various states of undress but also for the incredible stage scenes. I love burlesque and what I love about this compared to the "new" burlesque is that these women dance and sing and have some kind of talent other than walking onto stage and taking their clothes off. It's all around entertainment. After all...it is possible to get bored with naked women shaking their chest on the stage for 3 minutes....I promise. If it can bore me...it can bore anyone.

Sunny Day
The weather was actually tolerable enough for us to hang outside longer than it took for us to finish our smokes! The temperature is steadily climbing but it was a nice cool 65 degrees on this amazing sunny day. I took my crochet and Colton took his guitar and we braved the porch for a whole hour before heading back inside for bed. We sleep during the day so by the time every one else is out walking their dogs and getting around it is just about sleepy time for us.
